Fayetteville rapper Big Cake-O is going after superstar J. Cole in a Facebook post.
Big Cake-O, whose real name is Anu Naki, posted on Facebook under the name Charles Mcrae and accused the Dreamville founder of allegedly abandoning Fayetteville’s underground music scene while building a global brand off the city’s culture and reputation.
In post, he claimed that when “things got real,” J. Cole “bitched out” and said the version of Fayetteville being represented publicly is not the “real Fayetteville” he knows.
He also appeared to criticize the Dreamville movement itself, writing:
“F**k all that Dreamville shit… been doing just that selling y’all dreams for 10 years.”
The post continued with several other statements accusing Cole of failing to support local artists and hometown movements, specifically mentioning Fayetteville’s “2-6 cypher” culture.
Big Cake-O also alleged that despite J. Cole constantly shouting out Fayetteville publicly, he never reposted or acknowledged certain local artists and creators trying to build visibility in the city.
