Two people have been arrested in the murder of 16-year-old Michael Cole Junior of Montgomery, Alabama. He was last seen with four friends at a home on Southmont Drive in Montgomery.Â
Since Thursday, January 25, 2024, the Montgomery, Alabama community had been searching for 16-year-old Michael Cole Junior, a sophomore at Carver High School. Friends and family of Mike was actively looking for him. Throughout their search, the Montgomery Police Department had been lazy until late Monday night, when Mike was found.
According to online reports, there was a significant police presence near US-80 & Selma Hwy on Monday night. Reporter Elizabeth White suggested that it was related to the disappearance of Mike Junior.
Last Thursday around 8:30 p.m. CST, Mike was last seen wearing a black Tulones sweater with the word “Tulones” in white, black skinny jeans, and white Jordans 11s in the area of Southmont Drive in Montgomery.
Mike’s mother, Keiashanique Felder, expressed her deep concern for her son’s disappearance to WSFA 12, stating that she has been losing sleep, not eating, and feeling stressed. She finds it strange that her son suddenly disappeared and calls out those who have been acting as if they don’t know anything about what happened to her son.
“And for my baby to just up and disappear, and everybody acting like they don’t know nothing, it’s not right. I need answers. I want my baby home, Felder told the outlet.
The last time she saw them, they were “running”. She mentioned that they hadn’t tried to contact her or the police.
“I have reason to believe it because the boys he left home wtih, they are running. They won’t come to me. They won’t go to the police. They won’t tell nothing,” Fedler said.
Four young men were posted on a missing person’s poster for Mike Junior. The poster indicated that Mike was last seen at the residence of Jamarcus Hamilton on Southmonth Drive.Â
On Tuesday, the Montgomery Police Department nabbed two out of the four men, 18-year-old Nicholas Sheppard and 18-year-old Nedvin Maynard Jones and slapped them with felony murder charges.
As for the remaining two pals, Jamarcus Hamilton and Jerel Brown, their fate remains uncertain as they have not been informed of any potential charges as of yet.
Mike Junior’s family described him as a sports enthusiast who loved football and basketball, and was known for being memorable and well-respected.
