Djibril Sow Charged With First-Degree Murder in Greensboro Killing of Laquasia Fields

GREENSBORO, N.C. Local authorities have arrested and charged 35-year-old Djibril Sow with first-degree murder and concealment of a death after officers discovered a woman’s body inside a residence on the 4600 block of Glencraig Avenue over the weekend.

Sow remains in custody without bond at the Guilford County Jail. He is set to make his first court appearance today, Monday, May 4. Court records also show he was served with several unrelated outstanding warrants from Forsyth County during the arrest.

Greensboro Police Department officers were dispatched around 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, May 2, following a 911 call about suspicious activity in the neighborhood.

When they arrived, investigators say they found Sow in the backyard where someone had been observed moving items from the rear of the house toward a vehicle parked nearby.

A quick safety check inside the residence led officers to the body of 33-year-old Laquasia Shamecca Fields. Homicide detectives took over the case and identified Sow as the primary suspect. Police have confirmed that Sow and Fields knew one another, though the exact nature of their relationship has not been publicly detailed.

No other suspects are being sought at this time, according to authorities.
