“A BLACK RACIST QUEER WAS PRESIDENT FOR 8 YEARS AND NOT ONE CRAZY RACIST REDNECK REPUBLICAN EVER TOOK A SHOT AT HIM.”
David Edge’s Weak Apology After the Obama Meme Backlash
Of course, once the internet (and his own constituents) started backlash, Edge hit delete faster than you can say “career suicide.” But not before trying to clean it up with a pathetic apology.
In his damage-control post, Edge said:
“I made a post earlier about Obama and attached a meme that I did not write it but was forwarding it to get opinions. It did get opinions from both sides of the aisle. Many were offended that I posted it, I am sorry that it offended anyone. Now I suggest to those that were offended to take the same actions when you see similar post about Charlie Kirk, Trump or Melania…”
Backlash Over David Edge Obama Meme
Former school board member Dr. John Campbell said the post straight-up “grieved” him and suggested Edge should do the honorable thing and step down from the chairmanship. Activist and ex-NAACP Chairman Tyrone Watson had words for the commissioner, reminding everyone that public officials are supposed to represent all people with dignity — not drop racist memes for “opinions.”
Even fellow Commissioner Wixie Stephens publicly announced she’s “lost totally respect” for Edge.
