WHAT POLICE SAY HAPPENED

Police say while the car was still in motion inside a parking lot, McFarland got out of the vehicle while holding both children.

As a result, all three reportedly fell out of the moving car.

BABY SUFFERED SERIOUS INJURY

Court records reveal the 7-month-old baby landed on their head, resulting in what officials described as “mental impairment.”

The infant was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, authorities have not publicly confirmed the condition of the second child or whether they were injured in the fall.
