JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The streets just got lighter by 222 pounds of methamphetamine after a MAJOR drug bust went down in Eastern North Carolina.
According to authorities, on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, the Jacksonville Police Department Special Investigations Unit teamed up with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration for a joint operation that led to the jaw-dropping seizure.
222 POUNDS OFF THE STREETS
Detectives confiscated 222 pounds of methamphetamine — a staggering amount that could have flooded communities across Onslow County and beyond.
Authorities say the operation resulted in the arrest of:
Manuel Aguirre-Ambrocio, 48, of Perris, California
He is now sitting inside the Onslow County Jail — and he is being held WITHOUT BOND.
