Former Greensboro police officer arrested after late-night domestic shooting in Alamance County
ALAMANCE COUNTY, N.C. — A former Greensboro police officer went from badge to booking photo real quick after authorities say she opened fire during a domestic situation in Alamance County — and the details are not looking good.
Morgan Lynette Hill, 25, is now locked up after being charged with shooting into an occupied dwelling, a felony, along with injury to real property, according to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say the incident popped off around 1:30 a.m. Saturday, when multiple shots were fired into a home that was NOT empty. Miraculously, no one was hit — but investigators made it clear this could’ve ended deadly.
What’s really catching attention is law enforcement wasn’t notified until after 1 p.m., more than 11 hours later. Once the shooting landed on the radar of the Greensboro Police Department, Hill’s career was clipped immediately. GPD confirmed she was terminated on the spot, citing the severity of the allegations and the active criminal investigation.
Hill was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center, where she remains behind bars waiting on her first court appearance Monday.
