SAMPSON COUNTY, N.C. — The Newton Grove police chief, Greg Warren, has been arrested by the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation following a criminal investigation requested by the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office, according to authorities.
The SBI confirmed that Warren was taken into custody after investigators reviewed allegations that led to a formal probe. As a result of that investigation, the top law enforcement official in the Town of Newton Grove now faces seven felony charges, including offenses involving a minor and secret peeping.

One felony count of indecent liberties with a minor

Two felony counts of secret peeping under N.C. General Statute §14-202(e)

Four felony counts of possessing images derived from secret peeping under N.C. General Statute §14-202(g)
Newton Grove Police Chief Arrested After SBI Took Over Investigation
Warren was transported to the Sampson County Detention Center, where he is currently being processed. Officials say he is expected to make his first court appearance later this week.
