A 37-year-old woman, originally from Laurinburg but residing in Fayetteville, North Carolina, has passed away after being discovered shot inside her car.
The woman has been identified as Denver Jamesia Quick, who is known as “Mesha”. According to the police, on March 14, 2024, around 10:15 p.m., the Laurinburg Police Department responded to the area of Samao and Wagram St in reference to a shots fired call.
When officers arrived on the scene, they found Mesha in the driver’s seat of the vehicle unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said she was in a silver in color Chevrolet Malibu which was crashed and consistent with being struck with gunfire. Mesha was rushed to the hospital and then transported to another unnamed medical facility in critical condition, according to the Laurinburg Police Department.
According to a preliminary investigation, Mesha was traveling on Wagram Street when unknown individuals fired multiple shots into the vehicle, hitting Mesha.
After fighting for her life since the shooting, Mesha died on Sunday.
There are no suspects or leads in the case.
