A woman, barely able to keep her eyes open for her mugshot, has been identified as the suspect behind gunfire in a crowded area of downtown Wilmington early on New Year’s Day, sending people running. Police have arrested 20-year-old Da’Knotica Randolph in connection with the incident.
Shots Fired in Downtown Wilmington
Around 1:30 a.m. on January 1, officers on patrol near Front and Market Streets heard gunshots and witnessed people fleeing the area. Upon arrival, officers found Randolph standing with a gun in her hand.

Authorities quickly took her into custody, charging her with going armed to the terror of the public and discharging a firearm in a reckless manner.
Arrest and Bond
Randolph was booked into the New Hanover County Jail under a $10,000 secured bond. She has since posted bond and been released.
No Injuries Reported
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and police were able to seize the weapon allegedly used in the incident.
