Goldsboro Edgerton Street murder-suicide
The Goldsboro Police Department has confirmed that a fatal shooting that occurred late Friday night on Edgerton Street has been ruled a Goldsboro Edgerton Street murder-suicide.
According to authorities, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance and shooting in the 1100 block of Edgerton Street around 10:53 p.m. on Friday, March 22. Upon arrival, police discovered two men deceased from apparent gunshot wounds inside the residence.
The men were identified as 42-year-old Antrell Lamont Carlton and 45-year-old Rondray Darnell Gooding.
A woman inside the home managed to flee and called 911. Police reported that she was unharmed.
During the investigation, North Carolina news officers determined that the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute involving the female resident. Goldsboro Police say Carlton forced his way into the home, where he fatally shot Gooding before turning the gun on himself.
Goldsboro Police confirmed this was an isolated incident and stated there is no ongoing threat to the public.
