President Donald Trump is back on his petty throne, this time snatching security from former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Just months before her nationwide book tour kicks off, Trump has rescinded the Secret Service extension that President Joe Biden quietly granted Harris after she left office. That protection was originally set to expire in July 2025, but Biden, anticipating possible threats during Harris’s post-office visibility, extended it by a full year.
On Friday, Trump signed the memo to revoke her extra protection starting September 1—making a shady move.
Trump Revokes Kamala Harris Security Detail Before Start of Book Tour
Harris is gearing up for her highly-anticipated 15-city book tour for her memoir “107 Days,” dropping September 23—and now she’ll be doing it without the round-the-clock federal muscle.

Without the Secret Service, her team will now have to cough up millions annually to mimic the level of protection she just lost. That includes digital threat monitoring, residence surveillance, and physical security detail.
This ain’t Trump’s first rodeo with revenge-revoking. He’s already snatched security from Hunter and Ashley Biden, former Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, and several others connected to the Biden camp—making it very clear he’s on his “if I don’t fw you, you’re on your own” energy.
What Now for Kamala?
With federal protection gone, Harris’s team will need to partner with private firms or local law enforcement in cities like Los Angeles. But without the direct intelligence feeds and backup of the Secret Service, even the best-paid bodyguards can only do so much. And let’s not forget—Harris is one of the most high-profile women of color in U.S. political history.
