The Federal Government said Thursday that the stimulus checks of $1,200 should arrive in the bank accounts of people who provided the IRS with account information for direct deposit no sooner than the week of April 13.Â
The bank account information came from taxpayers who filed their 2018 or 2019 tax returns.
Paper checks for people who haven’t provided account information could take as long as 5 weeks to be mailed.
About 5 million checks will be sent weekly, and it could take up to 20 weeks to distribute all of them.
People with the lowest incomes will get their checks first, according to the IRS.
