South Carolina authorities say they arrested a man in connection with six people found dead inside a home in Colleton County Sunday.
Investigators say 33-year-old Ryan Lenard Manigo was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder of the lone survivor, who was described as a juvenile. Officials said the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a house fire on Folly Creek Lane in Greenpond around 11 a.m. Sunday. The bodies were found late Sunday morning, the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.
The survivor was airlifted to a hospital about 42 miles west of Charleston, in critical condition.
During a news conference Monday, Sheriff Buddy Hill said Manigo is believed to be the brother-in-law to one of the victims and the father of another. Hill said they also had suffered stab wounds. Investigators say the incident remains under investigation, and arson investigators from SLED are assisting.
Manigo is being held at the Colleton Detention Center, and officials said additional charges are possible pending autopsy results, the statement said.Â
