A trip to Morrisville, North Carolina, turned deadly when a woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend to death early Wednesday morning. Authorities have arrested 22-year-old Destinee Unique Bauguess, charging her with the murder of her boyfriend, 26-year-old Zachary Obrian Epps.
Details of the Fatal Incident
According to Morrisville Police, officers responded to a call about a domestic disturbance in the 900 block of Athletic Lane at approximately 3:00 a.m. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Epps, unresponsive and not breathing. Officers immediately began life-saving measures, but despite their efforts, Epps was later transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators say the fatal altercation occurred when Bauguess allegedly stabbed Epps in the chest. Authorities believe the couple, who had been visiting friends in Morrisville at the time, were involved in some sort of dispute that escalated violently.
Bauguess Charged with Murder
Destinee Unique Bauguess has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. She is currently being held in jail without bond, as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly incident. Police have not released further details about the motive behind the altercation.
