15-Year-Old Girl ( Promise Quick) Killed While Dog sitting in McLeansville, NC
A 15-year-old girl has tragically lost her life after being shot while dogsitting early Wednesday morning in McLeansville, North Carolina.
The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched just before dawn—around 4:30 a.m. on July 2—to a home in the 5000 block of Hooper Road after receiving reports of gunshots fired.

When deputies arrived, they discovered a female juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have since classified the case as a homicide.
“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of the young victim,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. “A life taken far too soon is a tragedy no family should ever have to endure. Our detectives are working tirelessly to seek justice on her behalf.”
The North Carolina Beat has identified the victim as 15-year-old Promise Quick.

Sources close to the investigation confirmed her identity to The North Carolina Beat, saying the teen was dogsitting at the time she was killed.
Sheriff’s deputies say this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no immediate threat to the public.
