Philadelphia’s own Overseer Tyriek White has passed away. According to family members, White left this world on January 13, 2025, under mysterious circumstances. While the cause of death remains unknown, speculations on social media suggest that an asthma attack may have been the cause.
Tyriek White is no stranger to controversy, particularly for his explosive behavior and notorious reputation for cursing in the house of the Lord. Back in November 2021, White went viral after a fiery exchange with Bishop Lawrence Boyd III, the well-respected pastor of Chosen Generation in Trenton, New Jersey.
Their altercation was captured on video, a video that has now gained legendary status on the internet. Some are now speculating that the nature of White’s death might be God’s way of retribution for his public outburst.
The Viral Incident: A Cursed Church Service
In the now-infamous footage, Bishop Boyd was attempting to explain the importance of starting service on time so as not to rush the presence of God. White, however, had other ideas and took issue with the bishop’s message, muttering under his breath. As the bishop continued to speak, White interrupted, shouting, “I DON’T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOUR HOUSE!”
White’s hested response to the bishop’s comments didn’t stop there. He continued to lash out, declaring that time constraints shouldn’t restrict God’s work.
“Who are you to tell God he can’t do what he got to do?” White yelled, displaying an almost unrestrained level of aggression.
While we agreed with his message, the delivery was far from what you would expect in a house of worship.
Of course, the controversy didn’t end with White’s outburst. As the heated exchange continued, White launched into a string of profanities saying, “Let me get the f**k outta this church” and insulted Lawrence’s role as a bishop in the Lord’s church. For a moment, it seemed as though White’s unchecked rage would overshadow everything else, as he continued to escalate the verbal altercation.
Bishop Lawrence, in his calm response, delivered a final, almost prophetic jab: “And thank you for coming, when you leave out, please watch out for the step…God bless you.”
But White wasn’t leaving without saying another curse word. As Bishop Boyd handed his staff to one of his aides, White shouted: “Don’t put ya hands on my shit,” storming out of the church.
