Mark Robinson, the Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina and a contender for the governor’s seat, is finding himself in a bit of a pickle. As he grapples with mounting pressure and calls to bow out of the race, his campaign has taken a major hit with the resignation of several key staff members.
Just this week, CNN unveiled some eyebrow-raising revelations about Robinson, sending him a reality check. It seems that his past comments on a p*********y message board from over a decade ago are causing quite the stir, leaving even his campaign team feeling uneasy.
In a recent announcement, it was revealed that four of Robinson’s top aides have jumped ship, which includes his general consultant and senior advisor since the 2020 lieutenant governor campaign, Conrad Pogorzelski, campaign manager Chris Rodriguez, finance director Heather Whillier, and deputy campaign manager Jason Rizk.
Other reports indicate that Robinson’s problems doesn’t stop there, as as more staffers have followed suit, leaving him with a mere trio of campaign personnel—two spokespeople and a bodyguard. Reportedly, the departures also include Patrick Riley, the long-serving director of operations, along with political directors John Kontoulas and Jackson Lohrer.
Mark Robinson claims new staff will be announced soon
In a press release issued on Sunday, Robinson hinted at new hires on the horizon, promising updates in the “in the coming days.”
The extensive CNN exposé, released Thursday, sheds light on a series of explicit and racially charged comments allegedly made by Robinson on a forum called “Nude Africa.” The posts, dating from 2008 to 2012, paint a troubling picture of the man who now stands as the Republican nominee for governor, with the user describing himself in shocking terms and making disturbing claims.
