A North Carolina woman has been taken into custody after the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office reported that Kristy Gray concealed a man’s death and spent his money after he died.
According to the Pitt County Sheriff’s Office, they had been waiting for the medical examiner’s report on the cause and manner of 60-year-old Bobby Barnes’ death before making an arrest.
On Monday, Barnes was reported missing to the Farmville Police Department. They stated that Barnes was last seen on May 9. On Wednesday, his body was discovered inside a mobile home on US 258 in Pitt County.
Police charged Gray with concealing a death, larceny of a motor vehicle, and financial card theft.
She is in jail on a $250,000 bond.
