The Jacksonville Police Department in Jacksonville, North Carolina has arrested two suspects in connection with a deadly house fire that claimed the life of 28-year-old Torrence Michael Thomas from Sneads Ferry.
Anthony Daniel Dasha McKinney, 29, and Kennedy Shamika Rowe, 27, have been charged with first-degree felony arson and felony conspiracy, according to a press release.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, January 14, when officers and firefighters responded to a residential fire at 105 Arlington Court in Jacksonville.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and discovered Thomas inside the home. Despite life-saving efforts, Thomas was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
According to a press release, the investigation into the incident remains ongoing, and authorities are working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the fire and death.
Both McKinney and Rowe are currently being held in the Onslow County Jail without bond.
