North Carolina deputy punches handcuffed man
A North Carolina deputy with the Pamlico County Sheriff’s Office, identified by The North Carolina News as Deputy Shane Keith Hardison, is facing backlash after a viral doorbell camera video shows him repeatedly punching a handcuffed man in the face, slamming him into a patrol vehicle, and then body-slamming him to the ground.

The footage has ignited outrage across social media, with growing calls for Hardison to be fired and criminally charged. In response, Pamlico County Sheriff Chris Davis has attempted to get ahead of the backlash by calling in the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (NC SBI) and the Pamlico County District Attorney’s Office to conduct a formal investigation.
According to a press release issued by the sheriff’s office, on Wednesday morning, deputies arrived at the home of 28-year-old Darrell Wayne to serve an arrest warrant for child abuse. The charge stems from a separate viral video circulating on social media, in which Wayne is allegedly seen assaulting a 3-year-old boy.

Authorities claim that Wayne resisted arrest, but the sheriff’s office noticeably omitted key details from their statement—specifically, that Wayne was already handcuffed when Deputy Hardison began using excessive force.
The video, recorded by a bystander and shared widely online, captures Hardison forcefully punching Wayne before pushing him into a patrol vehicle. Moments later, Hardison slams Wayne to the ground.
In another video, Wayne can be heard requesting medical attention after being assaulted to. However, his request was denied. Deputy Hardison is heard telling him, he’ll get it at the jail.
Family members of Darrell Wayne told The North Carolina Beat that he suffered a fractured ankle and multiple bruises to his face and body due to the violent encounter.

Despite his injuries, a deputy, believed to be Hardison, could be heard saying they would get an ambulance for Wayne at the jail. He was taken to the Pamlico County Detention Facility, where he was booked under a $5,500 bond. He was charged with resisting arrest and assault on a goverment official.
Community members are calling for immediate disciplinary action against Deputy Hardison.

Doesn’t matter what he did there’s a justice system for that. Y’all going to keep disregarding people’s rights and they going to start retaliating.
HE’S A CHILD ABUSER. HE DESERVED ALL OF IT AND MORE.
Why do all the beatings take place after the hand👐 cuffs are on🤔
If the Comminuty and policing will evwr get better. The City need to hire competent officers. What’s sad is that it’s ALOT of great officers out their that go above ans beyond to be the example. Time ane time again the trash officers get the spot light for the wrong reason. Biggest question why they tried to lie and say he was doing this other stuff but didn’t mention he was handcuffed. Had it not been for the video footage the truth would NOT be believed. HE NEEDA TO BE FIRED.
