Raleigh police have not made any arrests in the death of 17-year-old Veronica Lee Baker.
Baker was found dead inside her running car in a Bojangles parking lot on Jones Sausage Road near Interstate 40 in Raleigh Saturday night.
One witness who called police said Baker’s car doors were wide open.
There’s a car with the doors wide open and a girl that’s unresponsive, the witness told dispatchers. It doesn’t look like they’re breathing. … She’s not breathing. I tried to shake her and everything else and no response or nothing.
In a press release, Raleigh police said Baker had been shot to death.
