Two-month investigation leads to extradition of NJ teacher now facing multiple child sex charges in North Carolina
ONSLOW COUNTY, NC – An out-of-state teacher is now locked up in Onslow County, facing shocking child sex crime charges.
34-year-old William Alston of Aberdeen, New Jersey, was extradited to North Carolina this week after a two-month investigation by the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office uncovered disturbing allegations involving two young girls.
Detectives say the investigation kicked off back in September after a report of a sexual assault involving a minor was made to authorities. As the case unfolded, two juvenile victims came forward, allegedly identifying Alston as the man who assaulted them while he was visiting Onslow County.

After investigators secured arrest warrants, Alston was taken into custody on November 7 by the Aberdeen Police Department in New Jersey.
Court records show Alston is facing:
-
Four counts of indecent liberties with a child
-
One count of statutory sex offense by an adult
According to arrest warrants, one of the alleged victims was only three years old.
Alston is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday in Onslow County.
Meanwhile, authorities in Aberdeen, New Jersey, have launched a parallel investigation into whether Alston may have allegedly committed similar offenses in his home state.
