GREENVILLE, N.C. – Greenville Police say a young mother allegedly stabbed the father of her child in the head with a kitchen knife.
According to arrest warrants, 23-year-old Kristen Garciga was taken into custody Saturday by the Greenville Police Department. Investigators say Garciga allegedly attacked the victim from behind, stabbing him in the back of the head with a kitchen knife during a domestic dispute.
Authorities say the man suffered serious injuries, though his current condition has not been publicly released.
Garciga has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury along with a misdemeanor domestic violence charge. Court records show she is currently being held at the Pitt County Detention Center on a $1,500 bond.
