The grapevine is buzzing with news that Richard Kanka, father of the late Megan Kanka, is making waves in the blogosphere by criticizing Megan Thee Stallion’s use of “Megan’s Law.” This law was established after Richard’s daughter, Megan, tragically lost her life in the ’90s at the hands of a sexual predator who, at the time, was not obligated to disclose his presence in the community.

It’s not clear whether Nicki Minaj reached out to Megan Kanka’s family or if TMZ reached out to get their thoughts, but according to TMZ, Richard told the outlet that Megan’s use of the law in her song “Hiss” was “as disrespectful as it gets.” He admitted that the verse shed light on the law in honor of his daughter, but he still found it inappropriate.

Even though the name “Megan” is associated with a specific person, TMZ reports that Richard felt like “his daughter’s name” was used in a highly offensive manner. He mentioned that he hadn’t heard the song, but the lyrics he read were not amusing.

As we all know, Megan and Nicki have been feuding since Megan released “Hiss” on Friday morning. The lyrics “these h*es don’t be mad at Megan (herself), these h*es mad at Megan’s Law” sparked a reaction from Nicki, unlike any she has given to her other rap rivals, especially Remy Ma. Megan was letting Nicki know that her husband Kenneth Petty is a registered s*x offender and his address has to be made public at all times.

Richard told TMZ that he is considering taking legal action against Megan, but it’s unlikely to go anywhere given Megan’s first amendment rights. TMZ suggested that Richard is aware of this.

We’ll have to wait and see.
