Rep. Maxine Waters Has Door Slammed in Her Face During Attempted Visit to LA Detention Center

Maxine Waters gets door slammed at L.A. ICE detention center

Talk about disrespect! Congresswoman Maxine Waters pulled up to the Metropolitan Detention Center in downtown L.A. this weekend, trying to check on a detained protestor—and instead, she got the door literally slammed in her face by federal officers.

THE VIDEO THAT GOT EVERYONE TALKING

In viral footage now circulating on Instagram and X, Rep. Waters was seen approaching the detention center’s front entrance when she told an officer:

“I just came to use my congressional authority to check on…”

Before she could finish, the officer hit her with a cold response:
“Our lobby is secured.” Then — BOOM! — door closed. Just like that.
