Voices in the background are heard yelling “Put him to sleep” and “Put him down” as the victim struggles on the ground.
Sheriff’s Update & Motive
Sheriff Rogers stated the assault stemmed from a breakup involving the 16-year-old victim’s ex-girlfriend and allegations that the victim stole items.
The victim reportedly said she arranged the attack at the party.
The Sheriff noted that, based on current evidence, the incident does not appear racially motivated, though the investigation remains active.
The Sheriff also disclosed that the juvenile female seen throwing the first punch is his wife’s second cousin. He emphasized equal justice and requested the North Carolina SBI review the case for full transparency.
The victim suffered visible injuries including a black eye, chipped tooth, nosebleed, and was even spit on.
