Jaylen Green Found Dead In Neuse River
The body of 16-year-old Jaylen Green, a non-verbal autistic teen who went missing Saturday evening, has been found dead in the Neuse River in North Carolina, authorities confirmed Sunday afternoon.
According to the Kinston Police Department, divers with the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office located Jaylen’s body around 1:33 p.m. in the waters of the Neuse River.
“Our hearts are heavy with the loss of Jaylen Green,” said Chief Keith Goyette in a statement. “On behalf of the entire department, I want to express our deepest condolences to his family and loved ones. We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the search and ask the community to continue offering their support to the family during this incredibly difficult time.”
Jaylen was last seen on July 19 after he reportedly walked away from Neuseway Nature Park located at 401 W. Caswell Street. He was wearing a peach-colored shirt, gray shorts, and black Crocs.
