Jaliyah Archer charged with murder in Greenville after police say her live-in boyfriend, 26-year-old Jacquaveus Suggs, was fatally stabbed inside their apartment on Patton Circle.
GREENVILLE, N.C. — Police say Jaliyah Archer, 22, is facing an open count of murder after investigators say she stabbed her boyfriend to death inside the apartment the couple shared.
The victim has been identified as Jacquaveus Suggs, 26.
According to the Greenville Police Department, officers were called to the 700 block of Patton Circle around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday after reports of a domestic disturbance. While officers were en route, they were told someone had been stabbed at the location.
When police arrived, they found Suggs suffering from a stab wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Initially, officers took Archer into custody for questioning. But after further investigation, police say Archer was officially charged with murder.
Investigators confirmed that Archer and Suggs were dating and lived together in the apartment where the stabbing happened.
Archer is scheduled to make her first court appearance on Wednesday, Feb. 11. at 2pm. As of now, investigators have not released details about what may have led up to the deadly altercation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
