The Jacksonville N.C. Police Department has arrested five men following an investigation into reports of individuals carrying and brandishing firearms near Sandy Run Apartments. The arrests came after concerned citizens tipped off police to suspicious activity in the area.
According to a press release from the department, officers received multiple tips on Monday about a group of individuals allegedly carrying firearms, including an AR-style rifle with an extended magazine, to intimidate and threaten residents in the area.

Responding officers and detectives quickly launched an investigation and located the apartment connected to the suspects. During a traffic stop involving a vehicle attempting to leave an apartment, officers seized four firearms—one of which had been reported stolen.
Subsequently, detectives secured a search warrant for the residence. The warrant led to the discovery and seizure of additional firearms. An individual found inside the apartment was also arrested on outstanding warrants.
