FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A quiet Wake County neighborhood is shattered after a 16-year-old boy allegedly brutally killed his 12-year-old sister and then turned on his 9-year-old brother in a violent attack inside their family home.

According to the Wake County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Tobacco Barn Road near Fuquay-Varina around 5:20 p.m. Monday for what was initially reported as a “serious assault.”

When deputies arrived, they found two children suffering from severe injuries.

Authorities say the teen suspect fled before law enforcement arrived but by Monday evening, the juvenile suspect was located nearby and taken into custody without further incident.
