A careless driver in a Chevrolet Silverado extended cab truck is being sought after a tragic incident during Halloween festivities in Burgaw, North Carolina.
On Thursday, October 31st, a 5-year-old child was struck while joyfully trick-or-treating. Burgaw Police Chief Jim Hock reported that the little one was taken to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center, and thankfully, an update on Friday revealed that the child is “fine and doing well.”
Authorities have described the vehicle as a 2003-2007 Chevrolet extended cab truck equipped with a camper shell. The unfortunate collision occurred on Walker Street, where the driver fled.
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with information about the driver or the whereabouts of the vehicle to reach out to the Burgaw Police Department at 910-259-4924.
