Detectives say the pair is charged with death by distribution following the January fatal overdose death of 23-year-old Jacob Sprinkle in Julian, North Carolina.

GUILFORD COUNTY, N.C. – Two people are behind bars following a major break in a months-long fatal overdose investigation in Guilford County, authorities confirmed this week.

According to a release from the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Major Crimes Investigative Unit arrested Dakota Ryan Blevins, 24, and Heather Dawn Harris, 51, on Monday in connection with a deadly overdose that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man earlier this year.

Deputies were first called to a home along Folgers Mill Road in Julian on Jan. 6, 2025, after receiving reports of a possible overdose. When first responders arrived, they found Jacob Clinton Sprinkle, 23, unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

Following weeks of investigation, authorities charged both Blevinsand Harris with death by distribution, a felony offense tied to the alleged sale or delivery of narcotics that resulted in Sprinkle’s death.





Both suspects are currently housed at the Guilford County Detention Center in Greensboro. Blevins is being held without bond, while Harris is being held under a $500,000 secured bond.
