Greenville Lyft driver cleared after accuser Yasmine Bland failed to appear.
The charges filed against a Lyft driver and radio personality in Greenville, North Carolina, have been dismissed, according to court records obtained by The North Carolina Beat.
Court records show that the case was dismissed due to the prosecuting witness failing to appear in court. Frank Brown, widely known as DJ Keith Combs, told The North Carolina Beat last Friday afternoon that the woman informed prosecutors that her child was sick—but when we spoke directly to the woman last Friday, she claimed she missed court because she was at work.
Due to inconsistencies in the woman’s story, The North Carolina Beat has decided to release her name and photo. She has been identified as Yasmine Bland, of Greenville, North Carolina.
In March, Bland contacted The North Carolina Beat claiming she had filed a police report and was seeking criminal charges against Brown, alleging that he sexually assaulted her during a Lyft ride to work.
According to Bland, the incident occurred on March 2, 2025, just after 10:05 a.m. She said she was picked up by Brown, who she said began acting strangely right away.
“He was looking at me funny when I got in the car,” Bland recalled.
She told us that during the ride, Brown began asking personal questions—whether she had kids and if she was single—and allegedly asked:
“If I wanted to go to work because he could take me somewhere and make me feel good,” she alleged.
She claimed that Brown then reached his hand toward her private area while driving.
“He was reaching behind him, trying to touch my legs towards my private area,” she said.
Panicked and triggered by childhood trauma, Bland said she began crying and told Brown to stop the car. According to her, he eventually stopped halfway, and she walked the rest of the way to work.
“It triggered me because of my past. I was molested at a young age, and this brought back everything.”
BROWN PROVIDED LYFT RECEIPTS TO DISPUTE HER CLAIMS
Brown denied Bland’s claims and shared Lyft ride data with The North Carolina Beat. The data showed that the ride included three dots: one when the ride was accepted, one for pick-up, and a final stop at Bland’s job, Focus, in Greenville.
He said he doesn’t know Bland and had never met her in his life until the day he gave her a Lyft ride, which he said was his first ride of that Sunday morning.
“I did get a copy of my Lyft report from that day, and it showed that I picked her up at 10:02, I believe, and she was in my car for 12 minutes,” Brown said. “Apparently, I dropped her off at her job, which is called Focus Call Center in Greenville.”
Brown said Bland did not get out of the car crying or displaying any of the behavior she alleged. He reiterated that he dropped her off in front of her workplace.
Upon arriving at work, Bland said she immediately called 911 and filed a police report. She then provided us a Crime Victim Information Report, confirming that the she officially reported the alleged assault the same day.
On Friday, March 15, the woman filed formal charges against Frank Brown, which was a criminal summons.

Official warrants obtained by The North Carolina Beat show that Bland told a magistrate Brown touched her breast—a claim not previously made to us. When we asked her about that inconsistency, she said the police:
“Was taking my report while I was talking and I have 2 witnesses that can vouch for that.”
We followed up asking why the warrant mentioned her breast being touched. She responded:
“I don’t know my cousin was here too and she said something about my breast and the cop might have wrote that down but I know what happen and where he was trying to couch me at.”

When asked why her cousin would be speaking for her during a police report, Bland said:
“she started talking while the cop was here and my boss was standing outside with me too she can most definitely clear that up”

NO SHOW IN COURT – CASE DISMISSED
In May, during a scheduled court hearing, Bland did not show up. We had not heard from her since March when she said she would provide additional details to clarify her allegation against Brown. However, prosecutors dismissed the case.
Before publishing this article, The North Carolina Beat again reached out to Bland, who told us she stands by her accusations. Brown, however, firmly denies all allegations and says none of it happened.
He described the Lyft ride as a typical one, just like with all of his customers—saying, “Hey, how you doing?” and “Thank you” when the ride is over. Brown said he never touched or attempted to touch Bland and says her story is not true.
Brown said he asked prosecutors if he could file charges against Bland for filing a false report but was told there was no proof she lied.
Still, the charges have now been formally dismissed. Brown says he’s ready to move forward, but the situation has already impacted his reputation and livelihood.

I’m sure they have cameras at her job to show rather she walked up to work or got dropped off. For Mr.Combs. I would use that as evidence to press charges
They do! I use to work there!
