George Floyd viewing and memorial service will be held in Raeford this Saturday

A memorial service for George Floyd, whose death during a police encounter more than a week ago has provoked an unprecedented reaction throughout the nation and beyond will be held in Raeford, North Carolina this Saturday, June 6, 2020.

The memorial service will be held at Cape Fear Conference B Headquarters located at 10225 Fayetteville Road, Raeford, NC 28376.

There will be a public viewing which starts at 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The private memorial service for Floyd’s family will begin promptly at 3:00 p.m., and will only be open to the family.

Hoke County Sheriff’s Office made the announcement Tuesday morning.

For many of you that do not know, Mr. Floyd was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
