Garner NC doctor arrested! Dr. Andrew Garland Cook, a 73-year-old optometrist at MyEyeDr., faces 15 counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor following a major NC SBI investigation.
Dr. Andrew Garland Cook, a 73-year-old optometrist at MyEyeDr. on Vandora Springs Road, was arrested Friday, August 22, after a year-long investigation into child sexual exploitation.
Court documents say Dr. Cook knowingly obtained child sexual abuse material — including content featuring minors as young as 4 years old. Law enforcement says they’ve been on this case for a year — with help from Garner PD, Raleigh PD, NC SBI, and the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Dr. Cook made bond at $100,000 and is already out. His employer, MyEyeDr., says they’ve cut ties and are cooperating fully with investigators.
