A former track and field coach from Chicago has admitted to engaging in a cyberstalking and extortion scheme to obtain nude images of female student-athletes from various parts of the United States.

Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy condemned Waithe’s actions as “despicable,” emphasizing the manipulation and exploitation of young women across the country. Waithe misused his position as a coach at Northeastern University to access compromising photos of female athletes from their cellphones, under the guise of filming their performance during practice and meets.

Subsequently, he utilized fake social media accounts to contact the victims, falsely claiming that their nude photos had been leaked online and offering to assist in their removal, while demanding more nude or seminude photos in return.
Officials said he would disguise himself as a chick named “Katie”.
He worked at the university from October 2018 to February 2019. He was fired after a school investigation uncovered “inappropriate conduct toward female student-athletes.”
He is set to be sentenced on March 6.
