Upon arrival at the scene, responders encountered a severely damaged vehicle, from which the driver, Carter Jr., had been ejected and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Speed was a contributing factor

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol’s initial findings, the incident involved a 1998 Honda Accord driven by Carter Jr. traveling in a southerly direction on Elliot Farm Road. The vehicle veered off the road to the right, colliding with a tree and initiating a spinning motion. Subsequently, the Honda Accord made contact with several trees and a brick column marking a driveway.

Carter Jr. was ejected during the course of the vehicle’s spin, with authorities attributing speed as a contributing factor to the tragic outcome.
