Fayetteville N.C. woman says she was raped by her Instacart delivery driver

This is terrible.

A woman from Fayetteville, North Carolina, informed local reporters that she was raped by her Instacart delivery driver.

According to the 48-year-old woman, who did not want to be identified, she told WRAL that late last month, the person who delivered her groceries through Instacart forced his way into her home and sexually assaulted her.

According to the woman, the delivery driver dropped off her groceries and said she would be right back.

She said she assumed the man had more groceries for her.

When the man returned, he had nothing in his hands. It was at that moment when the woman accused him of breaking into her house and sexually assaulting her.

She told the outlet that the Instacart driver returned to her home 15 minutes later. She said, “He knocked. I opened the door, and then he pushed himself in. I was taken to my couch and sexually assaulted.”

The woman said she blacked out when she realized what had just happened and then called 911. According to WRAL, she said she underwent a rape test kit. The woman provided them with a police incident report and lab test results that classified the incident as “sexual assault.”

She said she called her mother to pick her up, and when she returned home, she found a condom wrapper in the bathroom.

According to the outlet, the woman stated that the man has called her multiple times, and she is assisting the police in searching through phone records.

“I realized a lot of things were off that I didn’t notice,” she said. “I feel diseased. I haven’t taken enough baths that I can get the filth off of me,” she said. “Nothing like this has ever happened to me. I’ve never felt threatened, so I didn’t know. I want women to be more careful, especially if you’re single.”

According to the woman, this is not the first time this Instacart driver has delivered groceries to her. She said she had seen the man multiple times over the past year and never had a problem with him.

“He’s never given me a problem. I’ve never had an issue with him. He drops off my stuff,” she said. “He’s always been nice. A nice, younger guy.”

She said that the man had recently asked her if she was single. The woman added that, although the delivery driver had delivered to her multiple times, he was not the same person associated with the Instacart account he used.

Instacart said in a statement that they are cooperating with the police.
