A massive Durham drug bust uncovered 4.6 kilos of deadly fentanyl, assault-style weapons, and thousands in cash after deputies raided a home on Newland Place.

DURHAM, NC — Investigators with the Durham County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime & Narcotics Unit (SAC/Narc) — backed by the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) — kicked in the door on a suspected drug operation at a home on Newland Place Wednesday in Durham.

According to a press release, the search warrant uncovered multiple high-powered weapons, including an AR-15 and an AK-style assault rifle, along with a large amount of cash and a stash of drugs that could’ve wiped out the entire city.

DRUGS SEIZED IN THE RAID:

  • 4.6 KILOS OF FENTANYL

  • 3.8 KILOS OF MARIJUANA

  • 215 GRAMS OF COCAINE

  • 12 GRAMS OF HEROIN

  • 23 GRAMS OF PSILOCYBIN (MUSHROOMS)

Authorities charged Rodney William Ephraim, 49, in connection with the operation.

  • PWIMSD Schedule I & IV Controlled Substances

  • Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for Controlled Substances

  • Felony Possession of Marijuana

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

  • Manufacture, Sell & Deliver Controlled Substances within 1,000 feet of a school
