Daycare Owner Dominique Wilson Leaves 5 Kids In Hot Car While Grocery Shopping At Kroger

Dominique Wilson, a Houston home daycare owner, has been arrested after police say she left five children—none of them her own—locked inside a scorching hot car while she went shopping inside Kroger with her own kids.

The woman is now facing five felony counts of child endangerment following the dangerous stunt that went down on Friday, August 1, outside the Kroger on Telephone Road.

According to KHOU 11, Wilson hopped out with her two children and went inside the store, leaving the other kids with no A/C, no supervision, and barely cracked windows as the temperatures soared toward triple digits.

A Kroger employee reportedly saw the children in distress—faces red, crying, and drenched in sweat—and quickly rescued two of them before calling for help.

Judge’s Warning: “No Kids Under 17 If She Makes Bond”

During her first court appearance, the magistrate had some strong words for the suspect:

“There were five children in danger, who were found red-faced and in distress, crying with the window barely cracked and the car not running,” the judge said.

As part of her bond conditions, Dominique Wilson is now banned from supervising any children under the age of 17 if she’s released on bail.
