You won’t believe this! According to reports, a Mississippi attorney looking like Doctor Nikolas Van Helsing from ‘Cannonball Run’ was arrested for smuggling drugs and phones into a prison.
The attorney, identified as Daniel Sidney Dale, raises the question of who would hire someone that looks like him. Seriously! He allegedly pretended to be legal counsel for detainees in Hinds County, Mississippi, sneaking in cellphones and other illegal contraband, as stated by the Hinds County Sheriff’s Office in a press release.
His bug-eyed tale was busted Thursday.
What did Daniel Sidney Dale get caught with?
Authorities reported that Dale was caught in the act with a briefcase filled with marijuana, tobacco products, scales, and two cell phones with chargers. A photo released by the sheriff’s office is included below.
“Attorney Dale, in a trusted position responsible for the constitutional rights of arrested suspects, jeopardized the safety and integrity of the Hinds County Detention Facilities and the public,” Hinds County Sheriff Tyree Jones said in a statement.
Dale was taken into custody, interrogated, and subsequently arrested. He faces three charges of introducing contraband into a correctional facility and two counts of conspiracy.
Sheriff Jones mentioned that the investigation is still ongoing, and more charges and arrests may follow.
