Deputy Demetris Farrow DWI Arrest Sparks Internal Review in Guilford County
A Guilford County Sheriff’s deputy is in hot water after a wild early-morning crash turned into charges. Deputy Demetris Rashaun Farrow, who has been with the department since 2017, was arrested and hit with multiple charges—including driving while impaired (DWI) and hit-and-run—after wrecking his personal vehicle and allegedly fleeing the scene in Greensboro.
According to the sheriff’s office, the incident happened in the early hours of Sunday, September 28, 2025. Law enforcement says Farrow crashed while exiting Wendover Avenue toward Friendly Avenue, causing property damage.
But instead of staying at the scene like any responsible driver—or officer—Farrow allegedly dipped off and didn’t even report the wreck.
He’s now facing multiple misdemeanors, including:
-
Driving While Impaired (DWI)
-
Hit-and-Run / Failure to Stop for Property Damage
-
Failure to Report an Accident

Farrow, who served in District 1 Patrol, has been suspended without pay while the Sheriff’s Office’s Professional Standards Division conducts an internal investigation. In a statement, the Guilford County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Farrow’s employment status and said that the department is cooperating fully with the ongoing investigation.
Investigators say the case remains active and under review.
