Dallas ICE Facility Shooting: 2 Detainees Dead, ‘ANTI‑ICE’ Bullet Found

Dallas ICE sniper shooting

Deadly Dallas ICE Sniper Shooting Sparks Federal Investigation

A sniper opened fire from an adjacent rooftop on a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility in Dallas, fatally wounding two detainees and critically injuring a third before turning the gun on himself.

The FBI has classified the incident as a possible act of targeted ideological violence.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, the attacker “fired indiscriminately” at the ICE building, including shots into a van located in the sally port where detainees were being processed.

The facility is located near Interstate 35E in the Love Field area, and the attack occurred around 6:40 a.m. local time. The shooter was found dead at the scene, the apparent result of suicide.

None of the ICE agents or federal personnel in the facility were harmed.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted images of shell casings recovered from the scene, one of which bore the phrase “ANTI‑ICE” in marker.

Investigators recovered unspent shell casings inscribed with the words “ANTI‑ICE” at the Dallas ICE facility massacre site, suggesting an ideologically driven sniper attack.

This discovery has led investigators to believe the shooting was ideologically motivated.  The Department of Homeland Security echoed that assessment, describing the attack as directed not just against detainees but as an assault on ICE law enforcement itself.

The motive, while appearing political, has not yet been conclusively established, and authorities continue to investigate whether the shooter acted alone or had outside support.

The identities of the victims and the shooter have not been officially confirmed. Fox News has named the suspect as 29-year-old Joshua Jahn, though law enforcement has not verified that publicly.

At least one detainee died at the scene, while another was pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital; the third remains in critical condition.

U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem released a statement on X confirming multiple injuries and fatalities, noting that the shooter died by suicide.

Vice President JD Vance called the incident an “obsessive attack on law enforcement, particularly ICE,” condemning the violence in a social media post.

The FBI has joined forces with the Dallas Police Department and federal ICE investigators in a joint investigation. Authorities are expected to hold a press conference soon with updates on the shooting, possible motive, and confirmation of victim identities.

Traffic camera footage captures dozens of police units lined up outside the Dallas ICE field office after deadly sniper shooting. Law enforcement flooded the scene.

While law enforcement believes this was the work of a lone gunman, the possibility of additional suspects has not been completely ruled out.
