Coach Matt Taylor Caught on Camera Calling Black Girls “Ghetto” & “Bitches” — Now Teaching at D.H. Conley High
The North Carolina Beat has obtained a disturbing video that shows former Washington High School coach Matt Taylor allegedly referring to Black female students as “ghetto” and “bitches” while recording himself inside a classroom.
In the now-leaked footage, Taylor—who recently returned to D.H. Conley High School in Greenville, North Carolina—is seen and heard speaking inappropriately about the Black girls in his classroom.
“I’m in this ghetto-a*s school. These bitches don’t know how to act,” he says, before turning the camera around and showing several Black female students.
Sources tell The North Carolina Beat that this video was filmed with a student’s phone inside Taylor’s then-math class at Washington High. While it’s unclear why Taylor truly resigned from Washington High School back in December, his return to D.H. Conley has raised eyebrows.
Some students at D.H. Conley say Coach Taylor is still up to his old ways, claiming that his attitude toward Black students hasn’t changed. In April, the school proudly announced on Facebook that Taylor had been named head coach of the wrestling team.
The video is reportedly old but has resurfaced among students as concerns have been raised that his conduct at D.H. Conley may be resembling past issues reported at Washington High.
As of this writing, Pitt County Schools and D.H. Conley administration have yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident. The North Carolina Beat has reached out for comment.

That goes for anyone, any race harboring racism, which is hatred. But…most people don’t find out until it’s too late.
