A North Carolina police officer’s messy breakup has now turned into a messy criminal case after Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Officer Dylan Lineberger allegedly stalked his ex-girlfriend and vandalized her car in an unusual act of revenge.
According to court documents, Lineberger, who was arrested on October 29 in Lincoln County, couldn’t let go after the recent split, leading him now having legal troubles.

The Pepto-Bismol Tantrum
Following their breakup, Lineberger reportedly couldn’t handle his ex-girlfriend’s decision to move on. Ignoring a no-contact restraining order, the officer allegedly rented a car, drove from North Carolina to his ex’s residence in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and splattered Pepto-Bismol over her car in an apparent fit of rage. Court records also reveal that he went as far as following her to a nearby Food Lion grocery store.
Arrested After Traffic Stop
Officers arrested Lineberger during a routine traffic stop after they discovered his outstanding warrant tied to the harassment incident. According to South Carolina reports, the woman told the judge that she was afraid of Lineberger, stating that she’s already moved twice in the past month, attempting to distance herself from his alleged stalking.
Court-Ordered Monitoring and CMPD Investigation
A South Carolina judge ordered Lineberger to wear a GPS ankle monitor and mandated no further contact with his ex-girlfriend. Meanwhile, the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) has placed Lineberger on administrative leave without pay, pending the results of an internal investigation.
