The Placer County Sheriff’s Office and Public Health in Davis, California are reporting that one man who received a COVID-19 vaccine has died.
Health officials reported the death Saturday. The man who has not been identified tested positive for COVID-19 in late December of 2020 and received the vaccine this past Thursday.
Officials at Placer County Public Health say they did not administer the man the vaccine and it is unknown where he got his vaccine from or which vaccine he received.
The man’s cause of death has not yet been reported, but officials did say the man died hours later after receiving the vaccine.
The announcement was made in a Facebook post by the Placer County Sheriff’s Office.
At one point, Dr. Anthony Fauci did say that people should not get vaccinated within 90 days of being sick with the virus.
Multiple agencies are actively investigating the case, including the California Department of Public Health.
