A woman from North Carolina, used TikTok earlier this month to criticize a Cabarrus County deputy during a community fair in Concord. She claimed that four Trump supporters harassed her at her booth while canvasing for the Democratic Party.Â
The woman, identified as Veleria Levy from Kannapolis, North Carolina, recorded a video where Captain Chris Measimer, a deputy assigned to the Town of Harrisburg, stated that he had heard both her and the Trump supporters’ sides of the story. He mentioned that without video evidence of the incident, it would only be fair to ask both parties to leave.
During the exchange, Captain Measimer told Levy that he wouldn‘t remove the other individuals without proof. Levy responded by questioning whether his comments implied that she was being confrontational because she was ‘Black’.
Captain Measimer replied, “I don’t want to hear that black crap.”
He further explained that without evidence, he couldn‘t simply ask the other parties to leave and noted that he hadn‘t told her to leave when they claimed she was cursing at them.
“So, All I’ve got is two people fighting in public cursing each other in public…which is against the law,” Captain Measimer said.
Levy denied using any profanity and asked if the deputy would believe the other parties over her, to which Captain Measimer reiterated that he lacked video proof of her claims.
