A a middle school janitor, who is homosexual, was arrested and charged after being caught soliciting sex from a 12-year-old boy who attended Red Springs Middle School.
Authorities apprehended 28-year-old Antwane Sinclair a few days after our initial report, as he had attempted suicide. The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has charged Sinclair with multiple child sex offenses, such as 1st and 2nd-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, indecent liberties with a child, and dissemination of obscene images.
Sinclair was arrested on Tuesday morning and is currently being held in jail on a $500,000 bond.
While Antwane Sinclair, the head custodian at Red Springs Middle School, did not specify what kind of pictures he wanted the 12-year-old boy to send him, we already know, as Antwane sent the child a video of his penis on hard.
Vensqala Chavis, the mother of the 12-year-old, told The North Carolina Beat that while eating on the evening of February 19, her son informed her that Antwane had found him on Instagram. She said she asked her son how Antwane got his Instagram.
Ms. Chavis explained that her son has ADHD and is very hyperactive. She said her son told her that a lady at Red Springs Middle School started a yoga class and asked him if he wanted to join, which would help release some of his energy.
She said her 12-year-old told her that Antwane saw him and the lady talking. After the lady left, Antwane approached her son and asked him for his Instagram username. The 12-year-old gave Antwane his Instagram account name.
Back at the dinner table, Ms. Chavis mentioned that evening while they were eating, Antwane messaged her son and said, “I got it,” and then asked a question.
The question Antwane asked the child was, “What can I do to help you stay great no trouble” to which the 12-year-old responded, “Ion know.” The next message Antwane sent to the child was, “You need to know…lol frfr” and then sent a photo that was not visible in the messages obtained by The North Carolina Beat.
The 12-year-old responded to Antwane saying “U said u will help me get bread?“.
Ms. Chavis mentioned that she believed Antwane saw great potential in her son and wanted to assist him. Before she understood Antwane intentions, she mentioned that Antwane asked for her son’s Snapchat, an app where messages disappear after they are read.
Under the impression that Antwane was genuinely trying to help her son, she instructed her son to share his Snapchat username.
A few minutes later, Ms. Chavis mentioned that her son informed her that Antwane was inquiring about secrets. She instructed her son to stay close so she could monitor further communication from Antwane to her son.
According to Ms. Chavis, Antwane was urging her son to disclose something confidential to gain his trust. When her son replied that he had not done anything, Antwane mentioned sending videos and pictures to a “couple” who paid him.
Antwane persistently pressed the child to share a secret to establish trust. He also brought up a past incident where the 12-year-old had allegedly told on a friend, indicating he wanted assurance that the child would not tell on him in exchange for the proposed arrangement.
During their conversation, Antwane requested the 12-year-old to send him photos, specifying that he wanted “nasty pictures.” He proposed to pay the child through a cash app in exchange for the images.
In additional messages reviewed by The North Carolina Beat, Antwane suggested a payment of $200 every two weeks to the boy, emphasizing the need for secrecy. Furthermore, Antwane mentioned providing food and insisted on maintaining exclusive communication with the child.
Additionally, Antwane shared videos with the 12-year-old showing him touching his genitals while wearing shorts.
After Antwane continued sending pictures to the 12-year-old, she took her son’s phone and instructed Antwane to cease texting her son. Ms. Chavis stated that Antwane replied, claiming he was merely attempting to help her son in staying in school.
Ms. Chavis told The North Carolina Beat that she asked Antwane how asking her son to send pictures was going to help him stay in school. Ms. Chavis said that Antwane then started disabling his social media.

The next day, on February 20, Ms. Chavis said she went to Red Springs Middle School and spoke to the School Resource Officer (SRO). She provided a statement and sent the screenshots of the messages Antwane sent to her son. On February 21, Ms. Chavis stated that she visited the Red Springs Police Department, where she was asked to provide a statement.
She said she went back five more times after the 21st, and each time they asked her the same questions and requested more statements about Antwane soliciting her son.
Ms. Chavis said that the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the investigation because the Red Springs Police Department had not made any progress on the case since it was reported and didn’t have a case # assigned.
No one from Red Springs Middle School has reached out to her.Â

He also has a little brother that goes to that middle school and often takes him out of class near the end of the day to help him clean and just going off what a student has said but I wonder if he has every tried a family member in such a manner
His sister works at Rsms as well and been cussing out the children for talking about it calling them liars.
There are things going in in Public schools of robeson county that need to be addressed. People are swiping violations and other offenses under the rug. I am an employee for PSRC and I’m resigning due to the negligence of staff and the lack of care for the students education. I will give my identity after I’m no longer an employee and will become an advocate for parents at that time.
His brother that works at Red Springs High as the principal is named Steven Sinclair.
What’s really crazy about the whole situation is that his brother is the Principal of Red Springs High School and could be doing the same thing. They need to remove him as well.
He not only asked the child for lewd photos but he also asked him for sex on a consistent bases AND offered him money for both and encouraging him to keep it between just them. People like him are sick. Im glad he and his mother have a good relationship and he can go to her about anything had they not this could have turned bad for this baby and he would have had trauma on top of trauma to deal with for the rest of his life. Im not sure why the police have not arrested and charged him yet or even questioned him about the situation but I believe this is not his first time.
