A North Carolina Jury Says Influencer Brenay Kennard Wrecked a Marriage
Chileeee, the TikTok streets are talking after a North Carolina jury hit influencer Brenay Kennard with a $1.5 million judgment for allegedly wrecking another woman’s marriage.
On Monday, jurors sided with Akira Montague, who sued Kennard for allegedly stealing her husband, Timothy Montague, and turning their mess into TikTok content.
The Superior Court judge ordered Kennard to pay $1.5 million for alienation of affection and another $250,000 for “criminal conversation,” basically a fancy legal way of saying she was accused of sleeping with somebody’s spouse.
Now, let’s be for real — $1.5 million is a lot of money for anybody, influencer or not. Especially when your content is built around “Get Ready With Me” videos and mukbangs, not million-dollar deals.
During the final day of trial, Akira’s attorney, Robonetta Jones, grilled Kennard about her videos — one where she mentioned “getting down and dirty in the sheets,” and another where she said she made Akira “uncomfortable.”
Kennard denied sleeping with Timothy while he and Akira were still married and claimed her words were taken out of context. She even said she didn’t realize her relationship with Timothy made Akira upset until it was too late.
Jones wasn’t buying it, telling jurors, “Being drunk doesn’t excuse twerking on another woman’s husband.”
Akira got back on the stand and made sure the jury knew she wasn’t crazy — she and Timothy had matching “True Love” tattoos and were still intimate even after he claimed they were separated.
She painted a picture of a wife blindsided by betrayal — one who just wanted her marriage back.
But on the flip side, some folks say Akira’s case felt more like revenge and regret than justice. Let’s not act like every broken marriage is just because of “the other woman.”
Kennard, repping herself in court, told jurors she was an easy target because she’s an influencer. She said she could not “be the reason” Timothy wanted to leave because he had free will, saying, “this was a marriage that had been falling apart for years.”
She also said Akira’s lawsuit was about money and retaliation, not real heartbreak.
And listen… while $1.5 million is a big statement, it’s hard to ignore the irony of suing someone for “ruining your marriage” while your husband was right there making his own choices.
Now the question everybody asking — will Akira ever see that money? Because sis, let’s be honest… Brenay ain’t pulling $1.5M off TikTok ad revenue.
As of now, Kennard hasn’t said whether she plans to appeal the verdict.

Brenay is a LIAR she called akira her best friend in multiple videos, the she proceeded to lie on her now ex husband, Devon, saying that he was abusing her. Akira being the hood kind hearted person that she is she took Brenay in thinking that she was helping a friend in need but the whole time brenay was helping herself to Akira husband’s penis. I just want to appluad both Akira and Devon, they handled this situation with maturity and grace, way better than what i would’ve done i tell you that.
